Laboratoire national de métrologie et d’essai (LNE)

LNE is the French National Metrology Institute, it oversees metrology in France, in partnership with CNAM, CEA and the Paris Observatory. A public industrial and commercial institution (EPIC designation), LNE is under the trusteeship of the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance with oversight for Industry. Relying on an excellent scientific and technical skillset, LNE's research efforts have formed the basis of multiple activities: calibration, testing, certification, etc. Renowned for its expertise both in France and abroad, LNE performs measurements that serve the economy and society.

The photonics department of LNE is in charge of all kinds of applications involving measurements of light, including photometry, radiometry, lighting, light pollution, photovoltaics, laser power and security.
