Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA)

The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin, BAuA) is a departmental research institution of the German federal government. It advises the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs on all matters relating to health and safety at work. Expertise of the Optical Radiation Safety Group lies in radiometry and photometry, including experience in calibrating and characterizing wearable light exposure devices and their application in field studies dealing with measurements of personal light exposure. The BAuA is part of a nationwide network for monitoring solar ultraviolet radiation.
